Soroptimist to give out money

GLENDALE -- Several Glendale groups will be receiving funding from the

Soroptimist International of Glendale.

The group, which holds annual fund-raisers, has raised more than

$10,000 over the past year.

Organizations apply for the funding during October and November.

The awards luncheon will be at noon Dec. 16 at the Red Lion Hotel, 100

Organizations receiving funds are the American Red Cross, Campfire

Council of the Foothills, Foundation for the Junior Blind, Glendale

Public Library, Girl Scouts, Friends of the Glendale Public Library,

Glendale Assn. for the Retarded, Glendale Police Explorer Post, Glendale

Youth Alliance, Glendale YWCA, the Hear Center, Los Angeles Clothesline

Project and the Wellness Community.

Soroptimist, a professional women's organization, also raised and

donated more than $1,000 to fight breast cancer.

The cost of the luncheon is $13.50. Reservations can be made by
