Tom Hofman in 13 years. The Spartans finished in a second-place tie with

Monrovia in the Rio Hondo League at 7-3, which forced them to travel to

Gladstone in the opening round of the Division IIIAA playoffs, where they

lost, 51-45.

Ian Sullivan led a list of five Spartans that were selected to the

all-league roster. The graduated senior averaged 16.2 points per game and

connected on 100 three-pointers to finish with 237 over his three-year

career, surpassing Charlie Petit as the school's all-time leader in that

category.

Jeff Riddell, also a graduated senior, was hampered by a wrist injury

early in the season, which forced him to miss three games, but the point

guard rebounded to dish out a team-best 161assists in 25 games.

Mark Futalan and Patrick Madigan both were selected to the all-league

second team and combined to average over 20 points a game. Forward Greg

Swenson was selected honorable mention all-league.

Glendale finished 11-14, but suffered through a 3-7 Pacific League

campaign and missed the playoffs with a fourth-place finish.

Graduated senior Artin Adjamian played well down the stretch and

earned a second-team all-league selection for Coach Steve Snodgress'

Nitros.

Juniors Tomik Iranosian and Eddie Karibyan both were recognized as

honorable mention all-league and combined to average more than 22 points

a game.

St. Francis recorded the required 10 wins to merit recognition from

the CIF playoff committee, but Coach John Jordan's squad was left out of

the Division IIIA draw, due in large part to a 1-11 record in the Mission

League.

The Golden Knights finished 10-16 overall and were led by Anthony

LaVelle, who averaged 18.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks before

severely spraining his ankle, which sidelined him for the final six games

of the season.

Shaun Scranton, Jeff Brown and Michael Jenkins were all key components

for St. Francis.

Flintridge Prep was the third team to compete in the postseason, but

the Rebels were eliminated by Holy Martyrs in a Division VAA wild-card

game, 51-40.

It also marked the end of an era at Flintridge Prep as Coach Alex

Rivera stepped down after 20 years of guiding the Rebel varsity to pass

the baton to former player Garrett Ohara.

The Rebels did not have a dominant scorer, but possessed good balance

with Devin Brown, Drew Prickett and Antonio Harrison both averaging

eights points per game and Chachi Winters adding seven. Center Ben Kroop

led Flintridge Prep in rebounding with 7.2 a game.
