Glendale blood banks are low

GLENDALE -- Blood donations have slowed to such a trickle, Glendale's

American Red Cross chapter is importing the red stuff from other cities.

"We're at a critical point," said Katarina Sinovec, the donor

recruitment representative for the Glendale Red Cross.

"We're having to import all of our blood so it's pretty scary,"

Sinovec said.

Residents can help out at the following area blood drives:

*Church of Latter Day Saints, 1830 Foothill Blvd., La Canada from 3

p.m. to 9 pm. Jan. 20.

*Glendale Adventist Medical Center Jan. 18. Call 409-8050 for more

information.
