GLENDALE -- Glendale police are investigating a rash of strong-armed

robberies in the Glendale Galleria parking lot over the past week.

The first incident happened Jan. 6 when a man jumped out of a

burgundy, 4-door car and grabbed a Glendale woman's purse, according to a

police report. The man cut the woman's finger with a knife when she

refused to let go of the purse, police said.

Another strong-armed robbery occurred Jan. 7 in the Galleria parking

lot when a woman was walking to her car. A burgundy car rode up alongside

the woman and a passenger grabbed her purse, police said. The woman, who

would not let go of the purse, was dragged 20 feet and suffered cuts to

her legs, police said. The woman's purse had $132 in cash in it.

The third incident happened Monday. A Burbank woman who was driving

into the Galleria parking garage said a robber hit her over the head as

she was putting an access card into the parking gate, police said.

The robber then reached into her car and grabbed her purse, police

said. There was only $5 in the purse.

Glendale investigators believe the same suspects may be responsible

for all three robberies, said police spokesman Chahe Keuroghelian. But

they have no detailed descriptions of the suspects.

"They make it so fast the victims don't get a chance to see them,"

Keuroghelian said.

Anyone with information leading to an arrest can get up to a $1,000

reward from Glendale Crime Stoppers by calling 507-7867.
