El Tovar hearing

February 15, 2000

Buck Wargo

CITY HALL -- The Glendale City Council is expected to decide in late

March or early April on whether to hear an appeal on the El Tovar

mansion.

On Feb. 8, Board of Zoning Adjustments member Bob Yousefian paid $500

and appealed the Jan. 26 decision of his fellow board members allowing

the mansion at 3150 El Tovar Drive to violate city height codes.

Yousefian doesn't want any variances to be granted to the owners,

Rahim and Ramin Karjoo.

A date for setting the case before the council could be made in the

next two weeks. The council will decide if it wants to hold a hearing

before setting a date for one.
