Respecting the environment is message

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- Muriel Horacek will give a slide lecture on

"Respecting God's Creation" at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Church of the

Lighted Window, 1200 Foothill Blvd. Horacek will present slides of her

travels, which focus on environmental preservation. A separate program

will be offered for children in third grade or younger.

Dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m. A donation will be taken.

Sermon topic is 'Joy in the Presence' LA CRESCENTA -- The Rev. Bill

Schirmer has selected "Joy in the Presence" as his message for the 10

a.m. Sunday service at the La Crescenta Church of Religious Science, 4845

Dunsmore Ave.

Church school will be held and a brunch will follow the service.

Finding 'Peace of Mind' discussed

GLENDALE -- The Rev. Bonnie Rowsell will speak about "Peace of Mind

Now" at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Glendale Church of Religious

Science, 2146 E. Chevy Chase Drive.

A 15-minute meditation will be held 9:30 a.m. Children's church for

kids 5 through 12 will be held at 10 a.m. Child care is provided.

Church celebrating youth at service

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- Children will serve as greeters at the 10 a.m.

Sunday service at Church of the Lighted Window, 1200 Foothill Blvd. The

Choraleers will sing and there will be a story for children. Music will

also be provided by the chancel choir and Robert York.

The director of Pilgrim Pines Conference Center in Oak Glen, Mickey

Stone, will lead the service with a message about God's creation and

camping. A congregational forum will follow the worship in Fellowship

Hall.

Child care is available.

"When God Talks, People..." is topic

LA CRESCENTA -- Pastor Tony Silvestri has selected "When God Talks,

People..." as his topic for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at First

Baptist Church, 4441 La Crescenta Ave. Jim Jouwstra will direct the

sanctuary choir and lead the worship team and band.

Sunday school begins at 9 a.m. and Junior Church will begin halfway

through the regular service. Child care is available.

Coffee will be served at 10:15 a.m.
