The annual Memorial Day service will be held at 8 a.m. at the Vietnam

War Memorial at the corner of Ocean View Avenue and Honolulu Avenue, in

Montrose. The event is sponsored by the Montrose Shopping Park Assn. and

the Montrose Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce. For more information, call

Veterans, families and friends can meet at 9:30 a.m. for the annual

Memorial Day service in front of Veteran's Memorial Wall at City Hall,

613 E. Broadway. U.S. Rep. James Rogan (R-Glendale) will be the keynote

The Blue Pacific Swing Band will perform a World War II era musical

tribute and USO show at the Memorial Day ceremonies at 11 a.m. in the

forecourt of the Birth of Liberty Mosaic at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park,

Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, in Los Angeles. Mayor Dave

Weaver will read President Clinton's Memorial Day proclamation and the

folk music at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. in the Heritage Court of The

A special study session of the Glendale City Council will be held at 9

a.m. in City Council chambers at City Hall, 613 E. Broadway. The council

The afternoon film program at the Glendale Central Library takes off

with "When Glendale Ruled the Skies" and "Daredevils of the Sky" at 2

p.m. in the auditorium at 222 E. Harvard St. Learn about the history of

the Central Airport and what it takes to be a stunt pilot. Admission is

Welding courses for beginning and advanced certification will be

offered from 5:30 to 10 p.m. today through July 6 in the advanced

technology center at Glendale Community College, 1500 N. Verdugo Road.
