Welcome the summer season with a preschool program at 11 a.m. in the

Heritage Court at The Autry Museum, 4700 Western Heritage Way, in Los

Angeles. "The Summer Noisy Book" by Margaret Wise Brown will be read and

children can celebrate solstice with a craft activity. Admission is free.

THURSDAY

A citizen advisory meeting of the Committee for a Clean and Beautiful

Glendale will meet at 8:30 a.m. in Room 106 of Municipal Services, 633 E.

Broadway. The topics to be discussed are: the Holiday Home Decorating

Program, Adopt-a-Block, Target Litter and more.

The Environmental and Planning Board will meet at 10:30 a.m. in City

Council Chambers at City Hall, 613 E. Broadway. Call 548-2140 for more

Glendale Expo 2000 will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the walkway access

from Brand Boulevard to the Orange Street parking structure. Sponsored by

the Downtown Glendale Merchants Assn., the event will celebrate local

A series of traditional tales of myth and archetypes will be told at 8

p.m. at Once Upon A Time, 2284 Honolulu Ave., in Montrose. "Stories of

Spirit" features L.A. storytellers Leslie Perry, Nick Smith, Wanna

Zinsmaster, Lora Katheryne and Bill Howard. Admission is $10 at the door
