MONTROSE -- It's after 5 p.m. on Thursday and Dana Banks is running up

and down Honolulu Avenue, posting no parking signs in preparation for

this weekend's Montrose Arts & Crafts Festival.

"What I'm doing is not glamorous," said Banks, whose responsibilities

as festival coordinator include making sure trash Dumpsters and portable

toilets are delivered on time. "It's important to get everybody in place

at the right time."

As many as 30,000 people are expected to attend the festival on

Assn. and features the work of 250 selected artists and craftsmen from

"Montrose is a lovely community and people like coming here," Banks

said. "Plus we really strive hard to keep the quality of the artists and
