demanded more bureaucracy in schools, and this round will break a tie.

Recipients of the pseudo-survey had the option of signing their name

and giving a phone number on the postage-paid response card. But their

names and addresses were already printed on the cards addressed to

Rogan's campaign. It's a subtle means of assuring the silly surveys are

returned mostly by likely supporters.

Another group of respondents would be those who don't recognize it as

a device to build lists of potential contributors, those who believe

Rogan posed sincere questions and will yield to their responses. (If a

majority supports legal abortions, Rogan will drop his opposition?)

I also imagine a few enemies proudly fastened reply cards to bricks, a

petty ploy activists use to force an opponent to waste money on postage.

I expect the boys will drop by again next weekend, and the weekend

after that, and probably the 15 after that. I guess I'd better stock up

on cheese and crackers.
