The Montrose-Verdugo Chamber of Commerce will hold a scholarship

awards fashion show at 11:30 a.m. at the La Canada Flintridge Country

Club, 5500 Godbey Drive, in La Canada Flintridge. Fashions from Annie's

Scandal and mother and daughter outfits from Tender Treasures will be

featured. The scholarships will be given to Crescenta Valley High School

students Gina Pak, Laura M. Zerebko and Jennifer Hoenstein. A silent

auction will be held in support of the C.O.P.P.s substation, in Montrose.

The cost for the luncheon is $25. To pay in advance, send a check to the

Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber, 3516 N. Verdugo Road, Glendale, CA 91208.

Checks will also be accepted the day of the luncheon. For information and

The Glendale Central Library will host a program by the Columbus

Storytelling Circle from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Children's Room at the

library, 222 E. Harvard St. Young storytellers from Columbus Elementary

School will present several stories including "Old Granny Spider," "The

Knight Who Was Afraid of the Dark," "The Pied Piper," "The Three Little

Pigs" and the "Big, Bad Pig." Admission is free. For more information,

The Jewel City 29 Toastmasters, a public speaking organization, meets

at 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the American Red Cross, 1501 S. Brand Blvd.

The Foothill Autism Alliance, Inc. will hold a free family resource

meeting at 7 p.m. at the Burbank Center for the Retarded, 230 Amherst

Drive, in Burbank. Erin Hyer will speak about Fast ForWord, a computer

program used to improve auditory processing in children. Refreshments

Soroptimist International of Glendale will hold an installation

luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at Hilton Glendale, 100 W. Glenoaks Blvd. The

theme is "Soroptimist Takes Wing with Pride & Passion." President elect

Sue Brown will be inducted into the club. The cost is $25. For more
