It would appear that Rep. James Rogan's actual votes on controversial

issues, such as health care and gun control, vary greatly from his

publicly stated positions.

Two examples:

1) Rogan said that he voted for health care reforms that were in the

best interests of his constituents. In effect, they were actually

designed to benefit the health care companies by eliminating a patient's

options.

2) Rogan said that he voted for effective gun controls in the last

session of Congress. However, his gun show vote to eliminate the

three-day (max) waiting period. He helped kill the bill. Last year,

204,000 gun sales were blocked as a result of these checks required of

licensed gun dealers. Without an effective waiting period criminals can

now meander into a gun show and pick up his/her firearm, and with no

questions asked.

Could this explain Rogan's near 100% approval rating by the National

Rifle Assn.?

Remember the book "1984"? It was a best seller a couple of decades

ago. Yes meant no and no meant yes. Is fiction becoming fact?
