Deukmejian raises money for Missakian

GLENDALE -- With help from friends like former Gov. George Deukmejian,

43rd State Assembly District candidate Craig Missakian has raised more

than $100,000 in less than a month, campaign officials said Friday.

Deukmejian appeared at a local fund-raiser on Thursday that was

attended by about 250 supporters of the Republican candidate's campaign

against Democrat Dario Frommer, said Aram Chaparyan, manager of the

Missakian campaign.

Overall, the campaign has raised about $130,000, Chaparyan said.

"Although we have a ways to go, I am very happy with our progress to

date," Missakian said in a statement.
