Letter - AMANDA LE

September 14, 2000

On behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Assn. and the many families we

serve, I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Burbank, Glendale

and Pasadena firefighters who raised $2,000 in a recent "Fill the Boot"

drive for MDA.

On Aug. 25 and 26, they volunteered to stand at a Pasadena

intersection and fill their boots with contributions from passersby.

MDA relies on the efforts of dedicated people such as these amazing

firefighters, and on the contributions of the kindhearted, such as those

who helped fill the firefighters' boots with donations. Because of this

type of community support, MDA is able to provide local families with

services such as clinics and support groups, as well as money for

wheelchairs. Furthermore, we are able to send dozens of local children to

MDA Summer Camp every year, as well as further the research being done to

find treatments and a cure for neuromuscular disease.

MDA thanks everyone who participated in the recent "Fill the Boot"

drive for their inspiring generosity.
