GLENDALE GALLERIA -- Scary ghosts and goblins are invited to Glendale

Galleria's Halloween Costume Contest and Halloween Boo-Bash.

The costume contest will held 2 p.m. Sunday at The Zone, on the upper

level of the mall.

The contest is geared for young people 8 to 18, also known as

Generation Y, said Annette Bethers, senior marketing director for the

Glendale Galleria.

Tickets to Knott's Scary Farm, mall gift certificates and KISS-FM

(102.7) station giveaways will be awarded to some of the freakiest and

most outrageous costumes, Bethers said.

"We thought we'd do something for our Generation Y costumers. They are

really an important group -- they have the most buying power," Bethers

said.

The contest will be held at The Zone, an entertainment and retail area

that caters to teenagers. The Zone opened three months ago, Bethers said.

A KISS-FM substation, television screens that play the latest music

videos, lounge area and Internet stations are located at The Zone.

And younger children shouldn't feel left out, Bethers said.

The Halloween Boo-Bash will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Children, 12 and younger, will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat

through mall stores.
