Letter -- Christine Aposhian

October 30, 2000

James Rogan should be ashamed for what he did or didn't do regarding

the Genocide Bill.

As a representative, it was his duty to represent his constituents,

and he didn't.

Agreeing with Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert on this issue is

absolutely unforgivable. He played along with politics. I am sure if he

had enough power to impeach a president, he would have had enough power

to save the souls of 1.5 million people.

I am appalled that the U.S. government once again put politics before

the human soul. Does the U.S. depend on Turkey that much that when Turkey

says they will not allow the U.S. to use its bases in Turkey if they pass

the bill, the U.S. plays along? What kind of world power is this that

one country can have such great influence over it.

If the U.S. does not act upon recognizing the premeditated massacres,

genocide, the Armenian Genocide, then who will? What kind of

representative do we have that wastes his time using taxpayer money to

send fliers every day attacking his opponent, which I frankly just throw

away without even looking at them, instead of actually working to get

something done which will let 1.5 million people and their families get a

taste of justice, a long 85 years overdue?

Maybe Rogan, Hastert, Clinton, and others need to see plays like

"Beast On The Moon." CHRISTINE APOSHIAN
