Letter - Dean Q. Thorne

December 08, 2000

As the holiday season fast approaches we are again asking for your

support for our service members at various operations and exercises

around the world. This morale lifting request is supported fully by the

American Red Cross. Their very presence helps provide a touch of home

when visiting with service members in the various campsites. They

distribute the quality-of-life items collected and sent by American Red

Cross units around the world.

SAN DIMAS

ANY SERVICE MEMBER MAIL

Many of the troops, especially the two at the Kosovo locations, are

requesting "any service member" mail. This offers the Red Cross a great

public awareness opportunity as chapters, stations and centers can work

with local churches, schools, senior citizen centers, etc. to send

letters of support or holiday greetings to United States service members

stationed in these remote locations. Other items requested by the troops

include movies (DVD and VHS), games and jigsaw puzzles.

Packages/boxes should be packed, taped securely and shipped via the

United States Postal Service. Priority shipping (7 to 10 days) is

recommended. Other wise it will take approximately three weeks for the

team to receive your packages. Be sure your name and address and a list

of items is included in each package.
