BEST BET Researcher and author Henrietta Bernstein will give a

presentation on ancient mysteries from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the

Glendale Masonic Hall, 244 N. Maryland Ave. Bernstein will trace the

history of the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail and discuss the

idea that the two are references to an ancient book of spiritual secrets.

Bernstein is the author of "The Cabalah Primer" and "The Crone Oracles:

The Initiates Guide to the Ancient Mysteries." The event will also

Harvard St. Stories, songs and crafts will be presented for children 18

The Depressive and Manic Depressive Assn. hosts an ongoing support

group for depression and manic depression or bipolar disorder from 6 to 8

p.m. every Thursday in the Psych I classroom at Glendale Adventist

The Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce will hold its 2001

Installation and Community Awards Dinner at 6:30 p.m. at Oakmont Country

Club, 3100 Country Club Drive. The 2001 executive board of directors will

be announced and honors will be presented to last years' members. The

Author Elizabeth Pomeroy will present "Lost and Found: Historic &

Natural Landmarks of the San Gabriel Valley" at 7 p.m. at the Glendale

Central Public Library, 222 E. Harvard St. Pomeroy will discuss

interesting and unusual sites in the area. She has written literary

studies on Queen Elizabeth I and John Muir, and wrote a weekly column for

The Diabetes Education Program will present a free diabetes support

group for people with type II diabetes at 7 p.m. at Glendale Memorial

Hospital and Health Center, 1420 S. Central Ave. The group meets the
