LA CRESCENTA -- About 120 people showed up at a blood drive to

hopefully find a bone marrow match for a 5-year-old boy with leukemia.

The crowd, many who were former schoolmates of the boy's father at

Crescenta Valley High School, came Saturday to donate for Zachary Haberl.

The boy was diagnosed with the disease three years ago.

not be the last for Zac, whose father, Drew, played basketball for CV

High and grandmother, Linda, recently retired from the Glendale Unified

School District.

Laurel Angelica, a local high school sophomore, is organizing a blood

drive through the American Red Cross for Zac on Feb. 11 at St. Bede the

Venerable Church in La Canada Flintridge, officials said. For more

information, call 790-6740.
