Letter -- Ron Ellis

As a result of Paul Carney's Jan. 16 letter, he has become the

whipping boy of choice for a rather large segment of the population of

our fair city.

I was pleased to read Mr. Carney's letter of apology regarding his

offensive letter. He readily admitted his ignorance of the issue he

addressed.

It is refreshing, indeed, to have someone admit that they were in

error and then apologize for offending a large segment of our population.

This shows that Mr. Carney is mature enough to be teachable and is open

to other points of view.

Now let's see if those who have been so offended are mature enough to

accept Mr. Carney's apology.
