Letter -- Henrik Sardabegians

February 10, 2001

I, having moved to America from Iran at the age of 8, consider myself

an American Armenian, not just an Armenian.

Though it is true that people in America have the freedom of speech, I

strongly feel that some people should think before making comments. In

his letter to the Glendale News-Press, it was obvious that the issue on

the mind of Paul Carney was whether not whether the Armenian Genocide

would be recognized. If he is concerned about the issue of the Armenian

Genocide, he should stick to that issue rather than releasing hatred.

I have grown up in the Glendale, attended the public schools and

participated in many activities benefiting Armenians, other cultures, our

city and humanity.

I am not saddened by Mr. Carney's comments, because I know that the

non-Armenian citizens of Glendale do not posses the hatred that was shown

toward Armenians.

I see the interaction of Armenians with Koreans, Latinos, African

Americans and Americans as a learning process for cultures enriching our

lives.

For all the residents of Glendale, I praise all of you for having the

ability to make Glendale such a great place to live.
