GLENDALE -- It's the brutal season, the season of sickness and
sweating, of late nights, early mornings and large cups of coffee.
It's the season of candidate forums.
In Glendale, the men and women who are running for office must
overcome exhaustion and illness to run the gauntlet of meetings. They
poke at their Palm Pilots and thumb through their DayMinders to discover
that their schedules are utterly packed through election day.
