Congressional art contest opens

GLENDALE -- Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Glendale) on Tuesday announced that

local high school students are being sought to compete in the annual

Congressional Arts Competition.

The winning entry for the 27th Congressional District will be

displayed in the U.S. Capitol and the first-place artist and two family

members will be flown to Washington, D.C., for a reception on June 19.

The second-place entry will be displayed in Schiff's Washington office

while the third-place work will be shown in his district office in

Pasadena.

Every high school in the district is asked to submit one entry.

Interested students should contact a school principal or art teacher.
