Choral groups unite for concert

SOUTHEAST GLENDALE -- Hundreds of singers will grace the stage at

Glendale High School's auditorium tonight for one of the school

district's biggest choral productions of the year.

The concert will feature the voices of Glendale Unified's high school

and Glendale Community College's choral groups.

Each group will sing their own piece, then combine to perform other

works together.

"It's really powerful," said Kerry Burtis, a music teacher at

Crescenta Valley High School and director of choral programs.

Among some of the pieces, Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana," Anton

Bruckner's "Locus Iste," and John Rutter's "When the Saints go Marching

In," Burtis said.

Admission is $5. The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Glendale High

auditorium at 1440 E. Broadway St.
