Children's donation helps ill youth

GLENDALE -- A group of budding fine artists in Glendale is reaching

out to hospitalized children by donating their art to a fund-raiser.

Youngsters from Mission: Renaissance in Glendale have donated their

artwork to be sold at a special exhibition to raise funds for Chase Place

at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

Chase Place is named after a child who lost the battle with cancer. It

is a designated area where children go to escape the pain of treatment

with the help of beautiful murals and toys.

Artists participating are Jessica Kim, 12; Robert Kim, 9; Emily

Kurginyan, 9; Lucine Oganesian, 6; Nicole Perez, 9; Melissa Robinson, 7;

and Sophia Steilen, 5.

The Chase Foundation will be auctioning the artwork at a fund-raiser

at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Four Seasons Hotel, 300 S. Doheny Drive in

Beverly Hills. The artwork, which ranges from watercolors to pastels, was

professionally framed by Mat Source in Glendale, which also donated its

services.
