I would like to express my disappointment in the Glendale News-Press

for its apparent lack of coverage of the important issues that affect

Glendale and the surrounding communities.

It seems the only section that the Glendale News-Press puts much

importance on is the sports section, which highlights many of the high

school teams' achievements in sports and such. However, there is more to

our city than sports. Thera are many things going on in Glendale that is

not covered in the Glendale News-Press.

First and foremost, why is the homelessness issue in Glendale being

ignored? I have seen a growing number of homeless people over the past

few years, and, yet, I do not know of many homeless shelters around that

provide them with homes and such. Why can't this be discussed or written

about? It is an important issue, and it affects all the population of

Glendale.

Why is there a lack of discussion about the recent Academic

Performance Index system that has taken over our public schools? Isn't

there some concern that our precious school time is being wasted to

prepare for the Stanford 9 test? Or even some support for the system?

There is a lot of education-related issues going on in Glendale other

than sports. I found a strong lack of coverage about schools in general

in the Glendale News-Press.
