SOUTHEAST GLENDALE -- Members of the Adams Square Merchants Assn. are

celebrating after their most successful street fair yet, association

members said.

Summer A'Faire drew about 3,500 people to the 1000 block of Adams

Street between Chevy Chase Drive and Palmer Avenue for an evening of

music and food.

"It was amazing," said Carol Cianfrini, association board member.

The fair was part of a celebration of the Adams Square area's

revitalization project, which was expected to break ground in July.

Five buildings there will receive facade improvements. Streetscape

improvements will be made to Chevy Chase Drive.

The highlight of the event was the musical headliner Wayne Vaughn, who

performed with Earth, Wind and Fire.

"Everyone was singing and dancing in the streets," Cianfrini said.
