SOUTHEAST GLENDALE -- Senior citizens in Glendale are getting a
helping hand from the Los Angeles Area Agency on Aging this summer.
Glendale residents who are 60 or older may obtain $20 in Farmers
Market coupons Monday through Friday until August at the Adult Recreation
Center at 201 E. Colorado St., at Maple Park at 820 Maple St., and at
Sparr Heights Senior Center at 1613 Glencoe Way.
To show eligibility for the coupons, which are provided one time only
through the Senior Nutritional Meals Program Center, you must fill out a
registration card with the program and eat at least one meal at the
center.
The coupons, which can be redeemed at any WIC- and county-approved
Farmers Market, allow seniors to purchase only vegetables, fruits and
herbs.
The Los Angeles Area Agency on Aging received the Farmers Market
coupons from the California Deptartment of Aging.
