Seeds of Peace signs on for parade

GLENDALE -- The Seeds of Peace agreed Thursday night to co-sponsor the

Days of Verdugos Parade.

Seeds of Peace Chairwoman Christine Walters said Friday her group had

agreed to provide about 20 to 25 volunteers to help with the parade,

which will take place in October.

The group is an organization of volunteers that promotes greater

communication between people of diverse backgrounds.

The parade had looked like it might be in danger of shutting down

because of inadequate volunteer support. Organizers say the Seeds of

Peace's involvement should ensure the event will happen.
