GLENDALE -- Employees at Millennium Staffing will be trading in their

work files for walking shoes when the Glendale group participates in the

Muscular Dystrophy Assn. Muscle Team Walk.

About 30 employees from Millennium Staffing are among hundreds of

other residents from across the Los Angeles area who will meet at 9 a.m.

Sunday in Griffith Park for the walk, in its sixth year.

The event is a fund-raiser for the MDA, with proceeds to benefit local

services and programs for more than 6,000 South Californians with

neuromuscular diseases.

"I always felt that the MDA was a good cause, and that it helps so

many children pricked my heart," said Sarah Evans, a division manager for

Millennium Staffing who has spearheaded the Glendale group.

Participants are still needed and can sign up by contacting local MDA

offices. Sign-in for walkers starts at 7 a.m. Sunday, with the 5K walk

around Griffith Park to start at 9 a.m. A $100 goal is suggested for each

walker but is not required, officials said.

After the walk, Ralphs and Food-4-Less will sponsor a free picnic

lunch for participants.
