Man steals purse in dentist's office

NORTHWEST GLENDALE -- Glendale Police are investigating a robbery in

which a man swiped a woman's purse as she sat in the waiting area at

North Pacific Dentistry.

The woman told police the man walked into the office behind her

shortly after 1:30 p.m. Friday and spoke briefly with the receptionist

before going into a back room. When he returned, the man grabbed the

woman's purse from the floor near her feet and ran out of the office,

police said.

The victim chased the man on Pacific Avenue, where he dropped her

purse and continued west on South Street, according to police reports.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Glendale

Crime Stoppers, an anonymous hotline, at 507-7867. A reward of up to

$1,000 is available upon the man's arrest.
