Media City Ballet hosts holiday luncheon

BURBANK -- The Media City Ballet Company will perform excerpts from

"The Nutcracker" at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, for a fund-raising holiday

luncheon at the Burbank Airport Hilton, Festival Jubilee Room, 2500 N.

Hollywood Way.

The luncheon will feature a choice of entrees, Chicken Rosemary or

Eggplant Parmesan. A no-host bar will be available.

"A delightful afternoon of festive music and dance in the traditional

holiday spirit," is planned, said company founder and Artistic Director

Natasha Middleton.

The donation for the luncheon is $40 per person and is tax deductible

Residents to perform

in one-hour 'Nutcracker'

PASADENA -- "The Story of the Nutcracker," a short one-hour production

by Dancecorps, will feature several youngsters from the Burbank,

Glendale, La Canada Flintridge and La Crescenta areas.

The nonprofit performing arts organization, based in Pasadena, will

present the show at 2 and 4 p.m. on Dec. 15 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 16 at the

Sexson Auditorium on the campus of Pasadena City College, 1570 E.

Colorado Blvd., Pasadena.

Some of the performers are Nicole Spagnola of Burbank, Jessica

Vardanian of Glendale, Ani Avanessian of La Canada Flintridge and Kati

Raggio of La Crescenta.

One of the guest artists in the show are Roberto Almaguer, former

soloist with the National Ballet of Cuba.
