Alex hosts first family film series

DOWNTOWN -- As part of its first family film series, The Alex Theatre

will show "Wizard of Oz" at 10 a.m. on Jan. 26.

The showing will be followed by a screening of "Lassie Come Home" at

10 a.m. March 2 and the 1938 version of "Adventures of Robin Hood" at a

later date not yet announced.

The series kicked off with "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" on

Saturday.

"There was really a warm feeling from everyone who attended," said

Lisa Hogan, director of marketing for the theater. "Everyone was

smiling."
