Emergency response classes offered

LA CRESCENTA -- Join the next session of emergency preparedness

classes beginning Tuesday.

The fourth series of FEMA-certified Community Emergency Response

Classes is offered for first-time students and as a refresher course.

It will be held on three Tuesdays, Feb. 12, 19 and 26, from 6 to 9

p.m. and two Saturdays, Feb. 16 and 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All classes

are at the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station, 4554 Briggs Ave., La

Crescenta. Attendees who miss one segment of the training can make it up

the next time the classes are offered.

Students will learn light search and rescue techniques, fire

suppression and other emergency skills at the free classes, which are

offered by Step 2000 and the sheriff's station.
