On Campus at GCC

Glendale Community College's Student Employment Services will sponsor

Job Fair 2002 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday on the San Rafael

Plaza.

There are 60 employers scheduled to be on campus to provide job and

networking opportunities to GCC students and alumni.

COMEDY PLAYS ON FOR TWO MORE WEEKS

"Three Friendships, Two Urns and a Bird," an irreverent comedy written

by Rideaux A. Baldwin and presented by the GCC Theatre Arts Department,

continues for two more weekends in the Auditorium Studio Theatre.

It is the story of six girlfriends who get together to memorialize one

of their own. Secrets, scandals and silliness ensue. The show contains

adult themes.

Ed Douglas is the director. He has taught theater classes at Glendale

College for 15 years and is on the faculty at California State Summer

School for the Arts and American InterContinental University. He is also

a fight director for stage and screen.

The production features some local talent on stage and behind the

scenes. Emily Tamara Apcar plays Jeanette. She is a Glendale resident and

Glendale High School graduate who also appeared in "Aloha, Say the Pretty

Girls" at GCC.

The role of Tiona is played by Halleigh Andrews, a University High

grad planning to transfer to Cal State Fullerton. She also performs in

the college choir and appeared in "Kiss Me Kate" and "Lettice and Lovage"

at GCC.

Connie Dunn, who plays Ramona is originally from Hollywood and is a

personal trainer and dance instructor.

Stephanie Johnson has the role of Sherri. She is a graduate of Vasquez

High in Acton and appeared in "Kiss Me Kate" and "Aloha, Say the Pretty

Girls."

Daphne is played by Doreen King-Summers, a New York native and

graduate of Rutgers University. Crescenta Valley High grad Janett

Naldjian has the role of Faith.

Immaculate Heart grad Brigid Reiner plays Lilah. Jess is played by

Jonell Shamhart, who went to Yucca Valley High.

The technical crew includes Crescenta Valley High graduate Natalie

Stephens as assistant director. Harmony Absten of Moorpark is the costume

designer. Sean Madden is stage manager and Ron Morgan is sound designer.

Both are La Crescenta residents.

Shows are at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and April 18, 19 and 20

and 2 p.m. Sunday matinees are on Sunday and April 21.

There is limited seating and no late seating in the Studio Theatre.

Reservations are strongly recommended. Tickets are $7, $5 for students

and seniors and $3 each for groups of 10 or more. For reservations, call

PROFESSOR GIVES POETRY READING

Glendale Community College English professor and published poet Bart

Edelman will give a poetry reading and book signing at 8 p.m. on Friday

at the Pasadena Barnes & Noble.

He will read from the "The Gentle Man," his latest collection of poems

and "The Alphabet of Love," both published by Red Hen Press.

Barnes & Noble is at 111 W. Colorado Blvd. Admission is free.
