The chase began about 10:30 a.m. in Van Nuys after Jordan, who was
driving alone in a 1988 Honda Civic, did not stop for officers, Glendale
Police Sgt. Tom Kuh said.
At 10:36 a.m., with LAPD units in pursuit and police and television
helicopters overhead, Jordan drove into Burbank, Burbank Police Sgt.
Richard Madrid said. The car reached speeds of up to 55 to 60 mph on
surface streets, Madrid said.
She drove into Glendale but came back into Burbank, even driving
around Burbank High School. Jordan eventually drove north on Third Street
to Delaware Road and onto Glenoaks Boulevard, where she erratically drove
east, entering Glendale at 10:49 a.m., Madrid said.
LAPD lost Jordan on San Fernando Road, but Glendale Police spotted her
at Western Avenue and Glenoaks Boulevard, Glendale Police Sgt. Kirk
Palmer said. They followed her through traffic lights to Misty Isle
Drive, where she drove into a cul-de-sac.
"The officers boxed her in, and she rammed two police cars," Palmer
said, adding officers had to smash the driver's side window and cut her
out of her seat belt.
