GLENDALE -- Several firefighters from the Glendale Fire Department

joined the fight against a fire raging in Angeles National Forest on

Saturday and Sunday.

When a local department is overwhelmed by a fire, they often utilize

other firefighting resources in the region, Capt. Robert Doyle said.

"Because of the sheer size of the fires we face in Southern

California, we share resources," Doyle said.

Two Glendale firefighters joined 20 others from Burbank and Pasadena

for a day of work on Saturday, Doyle said. On Sunday, a Glendale Chief

helped lead a strike force.

The fire in Bouquet Canyon in Santa Clarita has consumed thousands of

acres, Doyle said.
