Jenkins is the third prominent CV graduate to die since July 1999,

along with 1997's Danny Morris and 2000's John Barbaro.

A two-time News-Press Male Athlete of the Year, Jenkins played in 30

games during his first season for the San Jose State men's basketball

team.

The 6-foot-6 talent left CV as the basketball program's sixth all-time

leading scorer, earning Pacific League most valuable player and All-CIF

Southern Section honors in 2000 and 2001.

He also was a member of three CIF Division II boys' swimming team

championships, in addition to winning four CIF individual titles.
