SAM AND MILLIE ENGEL

Burbank residents Sam and Millie Engel celebrated their golden

anniversary June 15 at the Glendale YWCA.

The couple were united in marriage in Weirton, W.Va. June 12,

1952.

Sam graduated from Bethany College in West Virginia. He was the

vice president of the Flamemaster Corp., a supplier of high

temperature resistant materials and sealants for the aerospace

industry.

He is a past president of the Burbank Noon Kiwanis Club and a

60-year veteran member of the Boy Scouts of America.

Millie graduated from West Liberty State Teachers College in West

Virginia. She was an elementary school teacher with the Burbank

Unified School District and is now a tutor for the Burbank Library

Literacy program. She was a Cub Scout den mother, Camp Fire leader

and is a past president of the Burbank Camp Fire Girls organization.

They both serve as elders at the First Christian Church of Burbank.

They have three sons, Sam Jr. of Glendale, Dan of Redlands and

Dave of Burbank, who were all Eagle Scouts, and a daughter, Kristin

Waters, of Denver, who was a Camp Fire Wohelo award recipient. They

have five granddaughters and a great-grandson.
