Woman suspected of throwing bottle or root beer at SUV

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of throwing a bottle at

passing traffic on Brand Boulevard, shattering a window of an SUV,

police said.

Witnesses told police Shari Trinidad, 30, of North Hollywood,

bought a glass bottle of root beer at Starbucks, then threw it into

traffic moving north on Brand Boulevard at the intersection of

Broadway about 4 p.m. Monday, according to the police report.

The bottle hit the windshield of an SUV, shattering it. The driver

got out of the car to talk to the woman and called police on her cell

phone. The woman tried to hit the phone out of the driver's hand and

tore her shirt.

The driver and witnesses held the woman until police arrived.
