Children learned how to ride a ramp at a beginning skateboarding

class at the Orange Street Skate Park, 229 S. Orange St. The

six-week classes are designed to teach children of all ages the

fundamentals of skateboarding, including balance, basic maneuvering

and a few tricks. They also teach how to use the helmet and how to

practice falling safely, recreation leader William De La Cerda said.

"Any age is welcome, as long as they're able to balance themselves,

their own helmets, skateboards and knee and elbow pads. For more

information, call 548-6420.
