Grizzly's celebrating its fifth anniversary
MONTROSE -- It will be a fifth anniversary celebration Saturday
for Grizzly's -- The Creative Source, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony
sponsored by the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce.
The ceremony is from 5 to 9 p.m., with presentations from the
chamber and local legislative representatives at 6 p.m. Legislative
representatives should RSVP by Thursday. Refreshments will be served.
Grizzly's -- The Creative Source is at 3521 N. Verdugo Road,
Glendale.

Library hosting apple-themed story time
LA CRESCENTA -- The La Crescenta Library will usher in the autumn
season with a preschool story time on apples Friday.
Children will be tasting apples and learning about the harvesting
season through stories and crafts provided by the Friends of the La
Crescenta Library.
The story time begins at 10 a.m. Family story time will be at 2
p.m. Saturday, and will be a feature film. Popcorn will be served.

Happy hour raises money for float
LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE -- The La Canada Flintridge Tournament of
Roses Assn. is holding a happy hour at Starlight Mesa Home Owners'
park Friday.
The night includes a no-host bar and hors d'oeuvres from local
eateries. Tom Burrows will also provide musical entertainment with
keyboard music.
Happy Hour in the Park will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Park entrances are
at 212 Mariner's View Lane and 281 Starlane Drive.

Needlepoint show features holiday designs
MONTROSE -- Needle in a Haystack is hosting a needlepoint trunk
show until Saturday.
The show features hand-painted canvases with Halloween and
Christmas designs, by various designers.
The store is open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. Saturdays. It is at 2262 Honolulu Ave.
