City wears denim for breast-cancer research

GLENDALE CITY HALL -- Denim-clad city employees lent a helping

hand to breast-cancer research Friday by participating in Lee

National Denim Day.

In conjunction with organizations across the United States, city

employees wore jeans, jean shirts and other denim wear Friday after

giving a $5 donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Each participating employee received a pink ribbon to wear with their

denim attire.

Last year, city employees raised more than $2,000 for the

foundation, which has received more than $30 million nationwide over

the past six years for Denim Day.
