A city employee was charged with malicious mischief Wednesday

after an alleged road-rage confrontation involving a city truck.

The suspect, an employee of the maintenance services division,

began slamming on his breaks and swerving when the victim, a Glendale

man, tried to pass him on San Fernando Road.

While stopped at the light at the corner of San Fernando Road and

Doran Street, the suspect left his vehicle and approached the

driver's side door of the victim's truck.

After shouting obscenities at the driver, the suspect kicked the

truck, causing minor damage, police said.

The victim gave Glendale Police the license number of the truck,

which turned out to be registered to the city of Glendale. City

officials directed police to the driver of the truck.
