Students in fourth, fifth and sixth grade at Edison Elementary

School got a visit from "Moosehead" -- Schools Supt. Jim Brown --

during Edison's After School Library Program on Wednesday. Brown,

sporting a moose hat, read from the books "Moose Stash" and "A Moose

Came Walking" for more than 20 Edison students. Brown also brought

about 30 moose hats for children to wear. The library program is

funded by state grants and is designed to improve academic

achievement by involving parents and the community in student

education, teacher specialist Wendy Rios said. "We like to encourage

parents to get involved with the library program, because it helps

our students improve academically," Rios said.
