Here's what's happening in the Hoover cluster schools.
HOOVER HIGH SCHOOL
In an effort to improve communication with parents, the Glendale
Unified Board of Education is opening communication lines, PTA
President Doris Kouyias said. A call-in program has been started on
Channel 15 offering information regarding school policies, grading,
tests, etc. A panel is available to answer questions live in various
languages. To date, Armenian and Spanish have been offered. Coming in
November, Korean-speaking panelists will be available. For more

TOLL MIDDLE SCHOOL
Glendale Police Detective Tim Feeley will present a program on the
dangers of the popular drug, Ecstasy, and the popular Rave parties at
7 p.m. Nov. 4 in the auditorium, PTA President Elaine McCoy said. A
short PTA business meeting will precede the program at 6:30 p.m.
Principal Jan Homan invites everyone to tune in to Channel 15 at
3:30 p.m. Nov. 5. Toll will be showcased at the School Board meeting.
It's a great opportunity to see what makes up a National Blue Ribbon
school.
Homan extends another invitation to all Toll parents to join her
for coffee and bagels from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. Nov. 6 in the library.
BALBOA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The PTA invites students on Tracks A and B to enter the
Reflections Art Contest starting Tuesday. For information and entry
forms, call the school office at 241-1801.
COLUMBUS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Tracks A and B start their fall fund-raiser Monday for grades 1-6.
