Chorus students perform in festival

November 09, 2002

Chorus students from schools throughout the Glendale High School

cluster are sure to make a joyful noise when they gather for the

Glendale Cluster Choral Festival on Thursday at Wilson Middle School.

Students and their choral directors have been working hard at each

school site to prepare for the event, which begins in the afternoon

with a series of workshops on voice, movement and musicianship. At 7

p.m., students will perform for their parents in the Wilson

The festival is made possible by a grant from the Los Angeles

Children's Chorus, whose artistic director, Anne Tomlinson, will

serve as guest conductor. Charlotte Smurthwaite, Wilson's choral

director and a vocal coach for the children's chorus, working with

the district's other choral directors, is host for the workshops.

Here's what's happening at Glendale cluster schools.
