Collision on freeway leaves one dead

A deadly traffic collision on the westbound Ventura (134) Freeway

at the northbound Glendale (2) Freeway connector tied up traffic for

at least an hour Monday.

Conflicting initial reports stated the victim was either thrown

from a motorcycle and lay in the roadway or a pedestrian was struck

by a car at that interchange, CHP Officer John Seumanutafa said.

Officials did not know the identity of the victim or cause of the

collision at press time. The freeway transition was closed at 6:27

p.m. for investigation, seven minutes after the collision was

initially reported.
