water polo.

GLENDALE -- Breakdown of a sloppy match: Excuse Glendale High

girls' water polo co-Coach Alfred Tamazyan if he would rather forget

Tuesday's 7-4 nonleague win against Pasadena Poly.

The victory kept the Nitros undefeated on the season at 3-0, but

Glendale didn't even come close to resembling a squad that had

dismantled Flintridge Prep, 20-4, a day earlier.

Glendale and Pasadena Poly combined for nine steals in the first

three minutes of the match, with the Nitros tallying five.

Neither team got within three meters of the cage in the first

quarter and Nitro goalkeeper Sarineh Alexani had more steals (three)

than saves (one) in the process. Alexani finished with five steals

and 11 saves.

"A win isn't always going to look like peaches," said Tamazyan,

whose team ended the week by finishing fourth in the Orange El Modena

Tournament.
