WHAT HAPPENED

The City Council approved an ordinance allowing the city to

transfer its deed for the Oakmont View V hillside property purchase

over to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy.

WHAT IT MEANS

Transference of the deed allows the Santa Monica Mountains

Conservancy to kick in its share of the property's $25.25-million

purchase price and ultimately seal the city's deal with Gregg's

Artistic Homes.

The council voted 5-0 in favor.

WEED ABATEMENT

WHAT HAPPENED

The City Council voted to set a public hearing for vacant lot

owners in Glendale who need to eliminate hazardous vegetation on

their properties.

WHAT IT MEANS

The owners of 689 properties in Glendale will have a chance Feb.

25 to discuss weed abatement in their lots. The vegetation must be

eliminated because it is a fire hazard.

VOTE

The council voted 5-0 in favor.

CRESCENTA VALLEY WATER

WHAT HAPPENED

The City Council voted to enter into agreements that permit

Crescenta Valley Water District to connect with Glendale's water

system.

WHAT IT MEANS

The connection could Glendale to send emergency deliveries of

water to the Crescenta Valley Water District in case of water

shortages.

VOTE

The council voted 5-0 in favor.
